Gross และ Net

Gross
The term gross refers to the total amount made as a result of some activity. It can refer to things such as total profit or total sales. Gross represents the "whole part". No deductions have been made from the gross value.

Net
Net refers to the amount left over after all deductions are made. Once the net value is attained, nothing further is subtracted. The net value is not allowed to be made lower.

------------------------

Gross is the profit from the transaction without deduction. Net is the profit from the transaction after deducting cost of goods and cost of the sale (manpower, taxes, rent, etc.)

(Accounts Receivable Ledger)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accounts_receivable

Accounts receivable (A/R) is one of a series of accounting transactions dealing with the billing of a customer for goods and services he/she has ordered. In most business entities this is typically done by generating an invoice and mailing or electronically delivering it to the customer, who in turn must pay it within an established timeframe called "creditor payment terms."
-------------------------------------

http://www.investorwords.com/52/accounts_receivable.html

Money which is owed to a company by a customer for products and services provided on credit. This is treated as a current asset on a balance sheet. A specific sale is generally only treated as an account receivable after the customer is sent an invoice.
---------------------------------------------------------------

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/a/accountsreceivable.asp

If a company has receivables, this means it has made a sale but has yet to collect the money from the purchaser. Most companies operate by allowing some portion of their sales to be on credit. These type of sales are usually made to frequent or special customers who are invoiced periodically, and allows them to avoid the hassle of physically making payments as each transaction occurs. In other words, this is when a customer gives a company an IOU for goods or services already received or rendered.
